Derek played one year of international soccer, earning three caps for his native country, Scotland. He moved to America and played four years college soccer at Berry College in Georgia, making one appearance at the National Championship. Upon graduation he moved slightly north to Kentucky where he was the Assistant Women’s Soccer coach for Morehead State University, while also completing his Masters in Sports Management.
